Dueling Contest Rules

Information on all our In house Tournements

PostAuthor: Henk » Tue Oct 11, 2011 1:04 pm

Hey guys,

Here included the rules for the upcoming R*X dueling contest! THIS SUNDAY (16 OCTOBER 2011, 20:00 GMT+1, AMSTERDAM TIME)!!! Be there or be square!! Signing up can be done till this sunday 18:00 GMT+1 in this topic: http://www.clanrox.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3144

Victory conditions!!: *****EDIT!!!!***** I've decided that we'll play best of 21 kills in first round then best of 25 kills in 2nd and in the finals best of 31 kills, we'll swap after. If it's a draw Cointoss (winner picks side) and 3rd round.
General rules:
* When you kill an opponent immediately selfkill (bind this to a key!!!!) so both players will spawn at their starting points again (look pictures below, spawn is immediately after you tap out when you get killed)
* NO leaning, simple don't wait behind a wall leaning
* Don't hide, just walk/run to the middle (you don't have to rush in hard, you can determine your own speed).

Class: Field Ops. -----> NO Artillery or airstrike allowed.

Weapons: Smg (mp40, thompson), Pistol (Colt .45, Luger), Knife. -----> NO Grenades allowed.

Map: Valhalla(TE), you can download it here: lk2.de/maps/etmain/te_valhalla.pk3 (put this in your ETmain folder). If you don't know the map yet, run it as local host to check it out. (main menu in ET -> host game -> gametype: change campaign to single map -> host

Below a few screenshots of the routes you are allowed to take! Stick to these routes please!!!!

From the Axis side:

and

From the Allied side:

Overview:

(The dots are the places where both teams spawn obviously)

If there is any more questions i'd love to hear them, pm me @ the server or xfire(10henk01).

I have been talking with elmo about a rating system (to improve the chances of less aim oriented players to advance) but I haven't talked to elmo in a bit so i'll have to see about that, maybe you guys can help with this issue or give your opinion about this. This would be much appriciated :)

Hope to frag you guys sunday ;)

Hmmm i'm not really sure how i'm gonna do the matching up yet... I like the idea of a losers bracket so everyone gets to play at least 2 matches. Maybe you guys can put in some ideas?? :)

Brackets or pool system.
The pool system is just long, but awesome to play.

Time limit is maybe no good? Why don't we do best out of 7 where four kills gets a win that way we can maximize time xD. Also, if we stick with time limits should there be a 'mercy' rule as in if a player is up 10-0 or whatever then the game is over just to not make it seem like a low aim player is getting destroyed or embarrassed?

yeah best out of 7 or 9 is better I think. Because going on for 10 minutes if one player is clearly winning it is not really fun for either side.
